Online Training - No Reason Not to Use Web Conferencing

I know I blogged on this a few weeks ago (Taking the Classroom Virtual) but a blog post by Ken Molay yesterday prompted me to revisit this subject…

There are many ways to train and transfer knowledge to people within your organization. There are many companies that still thrive on traditional brick-and-mortar classrooms for continuing education of business professionals, as well as higher education. And there are many good reasons to attend a class with a live instructor at the front of the room that can see you.

With the cost of travel skyrocketing, if you need to train a large group of people fast, transfer knowledge from one group to another, or deliver internal certification programs why not use web conferencing?

What do you need to develop, deliver and analyze the success of an online training program?

  1. To develop, you need subject matter experts that know the material inside and out, a solid training methodology, the time to craft the presentation or additional materials, and a test to confirm your students learned from your training.
  2. To deliver, you need a software application that enables you to schedule your sessions, manage registration, and distribute testing materials.
  3. To analyze, you need a tool through which you can track session attendance, report on performance, and determine if people achieve the test’s mastery score.

iLinc’s technology for learning enables any organization (corporate or education) to deliver and analyze online training programs. And with our great multi-point video functionality, your students can still see you and get the benefits of that face-time with the instructor without having to travel to sit in the same room. And, on top of that, you can easily integrate iLinc with your internal LMS… enabling you to use your existing application (purchase - $$$) and realize the benefits of web conferencing at the same time.

- Till next week… Christine

    Hi Mike,

Thanks so much for your comment.

iLinc’s client is “non-invasive” and works in locked-down environments without requiring changes to local system policies. Our client can install to the users TEMP directory if necessary, does not require Java or Active-X components, which are frequently disabled at security conscious sites, does not need to write to the registry, and does not need any access to any areas other than the TEMP directories that Windows requires itself.

    Thanks,

    Christine
